Puma Press is proud to announce that Grand Obsession: Harvey Butchart and the Exploration of Grand Canyon has won a 2008 National Outdoor Book Award (NOBA). Winners were announced on November 13, 2008.

According to the NOBA press release, “Butler and Myers do wonders with this book, taking what seems at first glance a prosaic subject, and fashioning it into a fascinating portrait of a man hopelessly addicted to a place.”

Grand Obsession adds the NOBA award a growing list of honors that includes a 2007 Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) in the Mountain West/Best Non-Fiction category.

“This is a great honor, both for the authors and the legacy of Harvey Butchart,” said author Tom Myers. “We are grateful to be selected as recipients of this prestigious award.”
